Backstory
Despite being the illegitimate daughter of Lord Solli and Matriarch Victoria, Charlotte was doted on by both of her parents. She had a hard but fairly normal upbringing. Discipline, focus, patient endurance and precision was to be expected in her family, illegitimate or not. She excelled at her studies and was an excellent student but soon her mind drifted towards other things.
Her mother Victoria was a first generation born Norwegian after her mother (also named Victoria) migrated from her native Russia when she was only a little girl. The elder Victoria and her daughter and subjected to the DOLL-3 retrovirus a several years after their arrival.
Matriarch Victoria was a major thorn in the side Commander Modgunn favoring diplomacy rather than gunships and endless war. Calling her a "blunt instrument" she wasted no time insulting the Commander at ever turn. Modgunn in turn called her a weak little Russo half breed bastard and not a "true Nordic Warrior." Neither one was intimidated of the other. Both were capable warriors. And it was apparent that the two would ever get along. Soon a compromise would be reached. The two would be separated never to see each other again but only at the imperial balls every year.
And even then, they painstakingly took steps to avoid one another at all costs. Furthermore Svanhild would send the "peaceful matriarch" Victoria on diplomatic missions.
On one particular mission with Alvdis and Trude and a handful of Neo Nordic dignitaries she would travel abroad to foster close relations with Great Britain. It would be there that she would come into contact with Fleet Admiral James Nelson and his XO, Vice-Admiral(then Rear Admiral) Lord William Edward Solli, the viscount of Baltimore(imaginary title). And it wouldn't be long before she was completely smitten. As the days went by and their relations came close, it would not be long before their connections became completely physical and intimate. Lord Solli was a married man after all but his relationship with his actual wife an arranged marriage of political convenience. While the marriage produce several children to keep up appearances, it was basically a loveless marriage.
That all changed when Matriarch Victoria entered the picture and his wife saw how happy the Viscount seem whenever she entered the picture. Things came to a head when in the middle of the year 2034 when it was evident that Victoria showed signs that she was pregnant with Lord Solli's child. Lord Solli wanted to divorce his wife to be with Victoria but she stopped him as to not further complicate matters and on the 7th of January of the following year, Sophia Charlotte was born. As the years went by it became abundantly clear who Lord Solli would rather spend his time with. While it caused a great deal of controversy and great deal of headache back home, Solli was extremely happy and Victoria used her diplomatic charms to win over many of the population. Some even calling her the real Lady Countess Baltimore. His legal wife (an extremely unfaithful woman in her own right) came up with an ultimatum, to either choose between his paramour or her. When he chose Victoria and Charlotte. the two went their separate ways and never saw each other again.
While she stayed in England with her children, (of course she had more than one with her lover) Lord Solli would go on training exercises With the US. Navy. It was there where he became close friends with a brash yet sophisticated and clever American named Alastaire Drakon. The two would keep in close contact over years even inviting their children to meet one another.
Edward and Eric would dote on the little Sophia and play with her every time she would come to visit. Charlotte would never forget the bonds of her youth and she would soon long for the day where she would follow in her mother's footsteps and become a diplomat all for a chance to see the Drakon family again. However fate had other plans. She was able to make contact with Alastaire again in America while on a working visa and was eventually hired on as a secretary at the Nordic Unmanned and Second Amendment but she soon discovered that AJ was trapped in Europe because of Norway becoming a dictatorship again. Not wanting to cause a diplomatic incident Alastair was able to arrange to have AJ returned to the US to continue the family business and consolidated his family. It was only then that they were reunited and she updated him all the fraud waste and abuse corruption happening around the company and the corrupt vice president Monica Black.
AJ kept Charlotte close while he was establishing his companies all across Europe with his main foreign office being stationed in Norway, she was quickly elevated to personal secretary and became a fiercely loyal ally to AJ (as he had very few people outside his family that he could trust). He also did good by her mother Victoria by letting her use the Winter villa as an escape from Imperial politics from time to time. In turn Victoria and Sophia try their best to keep AJ out of trouble, especially now that he has a large conglomerate to manage.
