When Vieregg moves from Gothenburg Sweden to Oslo, Imperial Norway he purchase this house at Vigdís Finnbogadóttir vei 14.

This is in a Norwegian architectural style from late 1800s and early 1900s called Norwegian Swiss Chalet Style. While it was inspired by Swiss Architecture it actually looks nothing like it.

This architectural style was envision from the start to be very Norwegian. It was in a period of a national romantic ideas. If you have seen "Viking" churches such as the Stave churches you will notice elaborate wood carvings as these were made of wood rather than stone as in continental Europe.
